Fall Aeration Benefits

Fall is an ideal time for aerating. The summer temperatures have cooled and there is more moisture in the ground.

Aeration helps the existing turf by improving the depth and extent of turf grass rooting, allowing better water uptake, enhancing fertilizer use, loosening compacted soil and speeding up thatch breakdown.  The cores are left on the lawn and will break down, returning your own topsoil to the lawn. All of this contributes greatly to improving the overall health and thickening of existing turf.

We at Wright Landscape strongly recommend an annual aeration either spring or fall.
Seeding can also be done at the time of aeration to achieve the right seed to soil contact generating new growth.
